Shipping Your Cards
Getting your cards to us safely is the first step in the consignment process. Follow this guide when preparing and shipping your submission to help protect your cards and allow us to process them efficiently when they arrive.
Complete your consignment submission before mailing your cards. Your shipment must include enough identifying information for us to match the package to your consignment account when it arrives.
Do not mail cards to MSG's Cards without first completing the applicable submission process or receiving instructions from us.
Raw Cards
Raw cards should be protected before being placed in the shipping container.
- Place each card in a penny sleeve or similar protective sleeve.
- Higher-value raw cards should also be placed in an appropriate top loader, semi-rigid holder, or other rigid protection.
- Make sure cards are inserted carefully so corners and edges are not damaged.
- Group cards neatly and keep the submission organized.
- Avoid excessive tape directly on sleeves, top loaders, or cards.
Graded Cards
Graded cards should be individually protected to prevent the slabs from scratching, cracking, or striking one another during shipment.
- Place each graded card in a protective slab sleeve or bag when possible.
- Wrap slabs with bubble wrap or another protective cushioning material.
- Do not allow multiple slabs to move freely against one another.
- Use additional padding around valuable or heavier graded cards.
- Make sure slab corners and labels are protected from impact.
Pack the Submission Securely
Your cards should fit securely inside the package without excessive movement. Empty space inside the shipping container should be filled with appropriate protective material.
- Use a sturdy cardboard box or appropriately sized padded mailer based on the size and value of the submission.
- Keep cards together in organized groups rather than loose throughout the package.
- Use bubble wrap, packing paper, foam, or another suitable material to prevent movement.
- Do not overfill the package or place pressure directly against cards or slabs.
- Seal the outer package securely with shipping tape.
- For larger submissions, use a box strong enough to support the combined weight of the cards.
The Consignor is responsible for adequately packaging cards for shipment to MSG's Cards. MSG's Cards is not responsible for loss or damage that occurs while a package is in transit to us. For valuable submissions, we strongly recommend shipment tracking and appropriate insurance.
Tracking & Insurance
We strongly recommend using a shipping method that provides tracking so you can confirm when your package reaches us.
- Keep your tracking number until your submission has been received.
- Consider shipping insurance for higher-value submissions.
- Choose insurance coverage appropriate for the value of the cards being shipped.
- Retain any carrier receipts or shipping documentation until delivery is confirmed.
Identify Your Submission
Make sure we can clearly identify who the package belongs to when it arrives.
Include the identifying information provided during the consignment submission process, such as your name, email address, account information, submission number, or other requested information.
Do not rely only on the return address printed on the shipping label to identify your consignment.
Local Drop-Off
Local consignors may be able to arrange a drop-off instead of shipping their cards.
Drop-offs must be arranged in advance. Please contact us before arriving so we can coordinate a time and make sure someone is available to receive the submission.
Local Pickup
Local pickup may be available for qualifying consignments by prior arrangement.
Availability depends on location, submission size, scheduling, and other factors. Contact MSG's Cards to determine whether pickup is available for your submission.
What Happens After Your Cards Arrive?
Once your package is received, your cards enter our intake and processing workflow.
Depending on the submission, cards may be inspected, identified, scanned, photographed, inventoried, priced, and prepared for listing. Processing time may vary based on submission size, card value, and current workload.
